2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Do you know the primary way God uses to speak to you? Through the Bible. The Bible is the word of God because He inspired the people who wrote it. God speaks to you through the Bible, explains the truth to you, and reveals His will for your life.

When you read the Bible, you learn how to live for Jesus. The words of the Bible prepare and equip you to do good works and live in holiness, as well as help you discern between good and evil, truth and lies. That’s why it’s very important to read and understand the Bible, applying what you learn. It is a great privilege to be able to read the Bible. Don’t waste it!

Make Bible reading a priority:

Set aside time to read the Bible and pray every day.
Ask God for wisdom to understand what you read.
If you have difficulty understanding what you read, use Bible studies and other resources.
Ask a pastor or another mature Christian about passages you don’t understand.
Put into practice what you learn.
To pray:
Lord God, thank you for giving us the Bible. Please help me understand what I read in the Bible and see how it applies to my life. I want to live to please you, and I know that the Bible can help me do that. Give me wisdom and courage to follow Your word. In Jesus' name, amen.
