Remove from me the way of deceit, and teach me Your law. I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your judgments before me.
(Psalm 119:29-30)

Much of the world still doesn't fully understand what conversion is. They think it's just a change of habits or something psychological that a person decides at an important moment in their life. It's common to see comments from people talking about when or how they should stop to decide their religion.

However, what happens is what this psalmist described. Notice that he doesn't stray, but is actually led away from deceitful ways. In other words, he doesn't convert by his own will; he is guided into conversion. What brings about this conversion isn't just a reflection or event, but the grace of God.

Conversion is also not a shift from a deceitful path to an empty one, but the opposite. When we leave the mistakes of the world, we find ourselves on a path full of truth and life that we need to know and dedicate ourselves to. When God's grace reaches us, we decide to follow His divine ordinances.

Make your decision
Have you already left the deceitful paths of the world, or are you still deceived by them? Turn to the Lord!
Recognize that it is by divine grace that you were saved.
Like the psalmist, make your decision to follow God's ordinances and be faithful to the Lord of the universe.

To pray:
Lord, I ask You to help me reach maturity. I thank You for reaching me on the path of destruction, the path of deceit, and for placing me on the road of truth, where Your Holy Son, Jesus Christ, dwells. Lord, open my eyes and teach me Your law, so that I may keep it in my heart and live happily. I ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.
